A personalized candle wedding favor is one of the most enduringly popular choices for a reason: it is beautiful, it smells wonderful, it gets used at home, and it lives on as a memory of your wedding long after the day itself.
If you are considering candle favors for your wedding, this guide covers everything you need to make a confident, well-informed decision.
Candles are one of the few gifts that translate beautifully across almost every demographic. Young and old, minimalist and maximalist, city and country — nearly everyone lights candles at home. This universality is rare among wedding favors.
More importantly, a candle is a sensory experience. Every time your guests light theirs, they will be reminded of your wedding day through the scent. This emotional connection makes candles one of the most genuinely memorable favors you can choose.
Not all candles are created equal. Paraffin wax is a petroleum byproduct that releases trace amounts of carcinogens when burned. Soy wax is made from soybean oil, a renewable plant-based resource that burns cleaner, longer, and more evenly.
For a wedding favor that guests will burn in their homes, natural soy wax is the right choice. It is better for your guests, better for the environment, and it actually performs better — giving a longer, more consistent burn and a cleaner scent throw.
At Celebration Finds, all of our candles are hand-poured with 100 percent natural soy wax. We do not compromise on materials because the quality of the burn is part of the gift experience.
Your candle scent should feel like an extension of your wedding aesthetic. Here are some guidelines.
Spring and garden weddings pair beautifully with floral and fresh scents: white rose, peony, eucalyptus, or fresh linen. Summer weddings suit warmer, brighter notes: citrus, sea salt, coconut, or light florals. Fall and harvest weddings call for rich, cozy scents: amber, vanilla, cinnamon, or sandalwood. Winter and holiday weddings love deep, warm notes: cedar, pine, clove, or a rich amber blend.

Shop the CollectionWhen in doubt, choose a scent that is universally appealing rather than highly distinctive. Your guests have different sensitivities and preferences. A clean, warm, and subtly floral scent will be well-received across a broad guest list.
Foil stamping is the most elegant way to personalize a candle favor. Unlike printed labels, which can look flat or commercial, gold foil catches the light and communicates genuine luxury.
Standard personalization includes your first names or initials, your wedding date, and optionally a short phrase or quote. Classic examples include "With Love, Sophie & James," "Forever & Always, 14.06.2025," or simply "Thank You for Celebrating With Us."
Keep the text concise. The most elegant labels have room to breathe. A single line of names and a date looks more refined than a full paragraph.
At Celebration Finds, our custom soy wax wedding candles start at $8 per piece with a minimum order of 25 items. For a wedding of 100 guests, that is $800 for handmade, personalized, beautifully packaged candles that guests will genuinely treasure.
Compared to many other wedding expenses, the favor budget represents a very small percentage of the total — and it is one of the few items your guests take home and use long after the day.
We recommend ordering your custom candle favors 6 to 8 weeks before your wedding date. This gives our studio time to handcraft every piece, complete quality checks, and ship to you with time to spare.
If your wedding is during a peak season (spring or fall), reach out 3 to 4 months in advance to secure your production slot. Custom handmade favors have limited capacity — unlike mass-produced alternatives.
